Srimukha Precision Products established its dedicated Cold Forging division in 2010 to support backward integration. By cold extrusion and forming raw slugs in-house, we control structural grain flow and reduce machining cycle time, providing significant cost savings directly to our OEM partners.
Our forging shop is equipped with robust high-tonnage cold forging machinery designed for high speed and dimensional stability:
Horizontal Press:
The process begins from spheroidized annealing from raw coils to spheroidized annealed coils (SAIP, PASAIP). The coils are then automatically fed through sequential dies of the KING AN/MALMEDIE part former achieving high density extrusion with minimum material waste and appropriate grain flow.
Vertical Press:
The process begins with precise slug shearing from raw coils or bars. Slugs undergo surface preparation (including chemical phosphate coating and soap lubrication) to reduce frictional wear on dies during extrusion. The slugs are then automatically fed through sequential dies of the ONY Vertical Press, achieving high density extrusion with zero (minimum) material waste.
Our metallurgy laboratory conducts rigorous incoming inspection of spheroidized annealed coils, including and not limited to: microstructure, UTS and spheroidization. During Cold Forging process design & manufacturing, we ensure strict quality adherence to the internal strength of the component by maintaining smooth grain flow along the profile shape of the part.
Horizontal Part Former: High-speed automated part forming line executing multi-station cold forming of blanks.
Servo Vertical Press: Heavy-duty vertical cold forging press executing high-pressure precision shaft extrusion.
